"Don is goofy and funny and sarcastic without being a jerk. That's what you want in a cartoonist and all that comes across in this book. The Peanizles characters are snarky but you like them anyway. They don't get all up in your business and make you want to punch them. There's a sweetness to their snark. These smart-mouthed kids look out for each other. Sure, they bust each other's chops but there's not a chainsaw murderer among them. (At least as far as I know. I haven't read them all yet.) The Peanizles gang are from your neighborhood if you live on the surreal side of town. You never know what's around the corner in Peanizle-ville, or more accurately, Don's mind.
